The Battle Beasts toyline first found its way into pop culture in 1986. The toys featured anthropomorphic animals with a unique ability to fight enemies in the heat of battle and used a colored heat-sensitive rubbing mark that revealed who an animal was connected to . The toys were very popular with both children and adults for their attention to detail, vibrantly colored, warrior-like figures. Each action figure had its own power and unique weapons. There were also robot figures, both animal and non-animal, that could transform into swords, bows, and other combat equipment. Each Battle Beast had its own loyalties with either the heroic "Good" or the evil "Evil" forces. Battle Beasts were usually seen in armor and had points of articulation on their shoulders, elbows, knees and heads. The Battle Beasts series was also released as an animated series and comic books. It was a huge success and sparked creative imagination with its wide range of characters and figure designs. The Battle Beasts series is still highly sought after by collectors and remains a constant favorite among those who enjoy action figures.
