The vintage Star Wars figure of Luke Skywalker as an X-Wing Pilot was originally released in 1978 by Kenner, as part of the first series of action figures based on the film Star Wars: A New Hope (1977). The figure was one of the first variations of Luke Skywalker and was based on his appearance in the famous scene in which he attacks the Death Star in his X-Wing fighter.

The figure features Luke in an orange X-Wing pilot outfit, complete with blue safety goggles and a black backpack (in the original figures this was often a separate accessory). This figure was produced in several versions, with some variations showing subtle differences in the colors or accessories, depending on the year of production.

The figure was part of the original 3.75" action figure line from Kenner and was one of the best-selling and most iconic figures in the Star Wars action figure line of the 70s and 80s.
